Michele Brown is the ’17-’18 school year winner of the prestigious Golden Acorn Award!
This award is is presented by a local PTA or council to a school or community volunteer in recognition of her or his dedication and service to children and youth. The Golden Acorn acknowledges excellence in service to the schools and the community. Recipients of this award receive a certificate and pin, and a contribution is made in their name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Program that benefits students.
Michele is being honored today for her commitment to the NTMS and LTES PTA’s, her volunteer hours in her children’s classrooms, and her long-standing dedication to the RAH program. Michele has been described as an “unsung hero, working behind the scenes”. One of the people who nominated her described the way she runs the program as “flawless”. She has given “blood, sweat, and tears” according to another of her supporters. Everyone understands that the RAH program is a huge undertaking and we honor Michele for her hard work. This program nurtures our children’s love of reading, for which we are all thankful!
